Eyeglass distribution and Eye Health Camp Closing Program

The Rotary Club of Dillibazar successfully concluded its Eye Health Camp and Eyeglasses Distribution Program for students identified with vision problems during a municipality-wide eye screening campaign in Chandragiri Municipality.

The closing ceremony was chaired by Club President Rotarian Prem Oli, with Chandragiri Municipality Mayor Mr. Ghanshyam Giri serving as Chief Guest. The event was attended by Deputy Mayor Mrs. Basanti Shrestha, municipal officials, representatives from partner organizations, healthcare professionals, and Rotary members.

Program Coordinator and Past President Rotarian Leelanath Sharma welcomed participants and presented an overview of the project. During the ceremony, Mayor Giri formally handed over eyeglasses to representatives of 22 community schools for distribution to students requiring vision correction.

Speakers highlighted the importance of regular eye screening in improving children’s health, learning outcomes, and overall well-being. Mayor Giri praised the Rotary Club of Dillibazar for its continued contribution to health and education initiatives in Chandragiri Municipality. Dr. Parthibeshwor Timilsina encouraged regular vision screening for newly enrolled students, while Dr. Anand Sharma emphasized the project’s potential for research and announced free future eye surgery support for eligible children through the B.P. Koirala Lions Centre.

The club presented Certificates of Appreciation to Chandragiri Municipality and Chandragiri Hills for their support. Chandragiri Hills also provided a financial contribution toward the project. Through this initiative, thousands of community school students received eye examinations, and those with vision problems were provided free eyeglasses, helping improve both educational performance and quality of life. The project was implemented with the support of several local and international partner organizations.
