Rotary Club of Central Lumbini Plants 100 Saplings Under District 3292’s One Lakh Tree Plantation Campaign

In support of Rotary District 3292’s nationwide “One Lakh Tree Sapling Campaign,” the Rotary Club of Central Lumbini successfully organized a Tree Plantation Program at Shree Janata Aadharbhut Vidyalaya, Siyari Ward No. 1, Rupandehi, on the auspicious occasion of Harishayani Ekadashi (Tulasi Ropan Day).

A total of 100 tree saplings were planted within the school premises with the active participation of 15 Rotarians, 10 Rotaractors, 5 Interactors, and 15 school teachers and parents, reflecting Rotary’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.

Addressing the gathering, Club President Rtn. Gangadhar Bhandari emphasized that tree plantation is “an investment for future generations.” He stated that schools are the most appropriate places to cultivate environmental awareness among children, enabling young minds to develop a lifelong sense of responsibility toward nature and sustainable living.

Expressing her gratitude, School Principal Mrs. Lata Gautam thanked the Rotary Club of Central Lumbini for bringing the meaningful project to the school. She appreciated Rotary’s continued commitment to community service and requested the club to organize more educational and humanitarian initiatives that would benefit underprivileged students in the future.

The program was graced by the presence of several distinguished Rotarians and community leaders, including Charter President Rtn. Bimal Senchury, DRCC Rtn. Krishna Pandey, Er. Jiwan Aryal, Senior Advocate Shiva Gaudel, Ward Member Prakash Thapa, President-Elect Rtn. Basu Badal, Treasurer Rtn. Tekraj Pandey, Secretary Rtn. Upendra Yadav, and Past President Rtn. Heera Shah.

The event also witnessed enthusiastic volunteer participation from First Lady of Rotary Club of Central Lumbini Mrs. Sunita Bhandari and Interact Club of Central Lumbini Charter President Aryan Bhandari, whose involvement inspired the younger generation to actively participate in environmental conservation.

Organized on the sacred occasion of Harishayani Ekadashi (Tulasi Ropan Day), the initiative beautifully combined cultural values with environmental stewardship. The program reaffirmed Rotary Club of Central Lumbini’s commitment to the Rotary International theme for Rotary Year 2026–27, “Create Lasting Impact,” by promoting a greener environment and inspiring collective action for a sustainable future.
