Project Description
*Diabetic Retinopathy screening camp* in collaboration with Ramlal Golchha Eye Hospital and Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology
• Total patients screened: 175
• Patients diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy: 14
• Patients referred for advanced treatment: 4 patients with diabetic retinopathy were referred to Ramlal Golchha Eye Hospital for further evaluation and specialized treatment after receiving initial care at the camp. The cost of the treatments would be borne by the patient at 75% discount from the hospital.
• Cataract cases identified: 15 patients were diagnosed with cataracts and were selected for cataract surgery at Ramlal Golchha Eye Hospital. The cost of the surgery would be borne by the hospital and will be free of cost for the patient.
⁃ Free reading glasses distributed: 17 patients requiring near-vision correction were provided with reading glasses on site. The free reading glasses were provided as a donation from Optho Tech Industries.
- medicines provided: Patients requiring treatment were provided eye medications at the campsite. The cost of these medicines was fully borne by Rotary Club of Biratnagar Downtown.
- certificates and token of love were distributed to health post manager and Ramlal Golchha Eye hospital medical staff.
- - camp timing was from 9am to 2 pm.
- 11 downtown members were present at the camp site.
