Project Description
The Rotary Club of Himalaya Patan, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Himalaya Patan
and the spouse group, organized a meaningful tree plantation drive at Shanti Ban, Godawari, in
August 8, 2024. The activity brought members together for a day of environmental service,
fellowship, and community participation.
The day began with members assembling at Patan Dhoka at 8:00 AM, from where they
travelled together to the plantation site. Upon reaching Shanti Ban, the vehicles were parked at
the base of the hill. Since the plantation area was located uphill and the terrain was challenging,
the 190 saplings were carefully transported to the site using scooters.
While the saplings were being carried uphill, members walked to the plantation location. After
everyone regrouped at the site, members actively participated in planting all 190 saplings,
including Kapur, Lapsi, Sallo, and other species. The collective effort demonstrated the
members’ commitment to environmental conservation and the creation of a greener and
healthier environment.
The plantation activity was also documented through photographs, capturing the active
participation and enthusiasm of the members. After successfully completing the plantation, the
group walked back down the hill to the parking area.
The event concluded with a fellowship breakfast, providing an opportunity for members to
relax, share their experiences, and strengthen their bonds. The participation of the Rotary Club
of Himalaya Patan, Rotaract Club of Himalaya Patan, and the spouse group made the event a
successful combination of environmental service, teamwork, and fellowship.
The plantation of 190 saplings at Shanti Ban stands as a positive contribution toward
environmental sustainability and reflects the Rotary spirit of Service Above Self.
